How green is Fasthosts?
Fasthosts is in the Green Web Foundation's directory of verified green hosting providers (we checked on 1 November 2026).
What the Foundation's verification means
Fasthosts says both its UK data centres use renewable electricity only and run their backup generators on HVO biofuel rather than diesel, but it doesn’t say whether this rests on a tariff, certificates or a power purchase agreement. Its parent group, IONOS, says it bought renewable electricity directly from suppliers for its own data centres in 2025, and gives 90.4% renewable for rented space in other companies’ data centres, partly from certificates and grid averages. No source says which of these applies to Fasthosts’ London site.
Two UK data centres, in Worcester and London.
The data centres we list are in the United Kingdom, where the grid averages 218 g CO2e per kWh. Lower is cleaner.
The grid in each country
