Is your web host green?

We answer that for each host with what we can show and date: whether the Green Web Foundation lists it as a verified green provider, where its data centres are and how carbon-intensive those grids are, and the evidence the company itself publishes, quoted and linked.

"Verified" here means only what the Green Web Foundation's verification means on the date we checked. Its criteria changed in October 2026: offsets are no longer accepted, and providers verified before then are reassessed at their next reverification. When we find no matching entry for a host, we say so with the date; that says nothing either way about the host's energy.

Hosts are listed alphabetically. Whether a host pays us a commission never changes which hosts we list, the order they appear in, or what we say about them.

Comparisons

Each dot is a country where the host lists data centres, placed by that country's latest yearly grid average on one scale, from 0 to 1,000 gCO2e per kWh. A filled dot means the host is listed in the Green Web Foundation's directory; an open ring, that we found no matching entry; a dashed ring, that we have not yet checked.
