How green is Raidboxes?

Raidboxes is in the Green Web Foundation's directory of verified green hosting providers (we checked on 1 November 2026).

What the Foundation's verification means

Raidboxes says the Equinix data centre in Düsseldorf where its customers’ sites run is powered entirely by green electricity, but it doesn’t say how that electricity is bought. It also says Hetzner, which holds its server infrastructure and most of its backups, gets all the electricity for its German sites from renewables; that is Raidboxes describing its supplier, not the supplier’s own statement.

Managed WordPress hosting; sites run in an Equinix data centre in Düsseldorf, with backups at Hetzner in Nuremberg.

The data centres we list are in Germany, where the grid averages 334 g CO2e per kWh, against 218 g in the UK. Lower is cleaner.

The grid in each country
Each country's average grid carbon intensity, from Ember: the grid where the data centres are, not the provider's own supply.
